Cozy Thunderbirds

I think I might be getting another sinus infection (stupid bad sinuses) and couldn’t think past being cozy when getting dressed this morning.  So, I wore this:

And it did the trick.  This sweater is super cozy, especially when layered over one of my beloved turtlenecks (Gap).

Luckily, it didn’t rain today so I didn’t have to wrestle with tights (I would have lost) and was able to pair the sweater (via Vintage by the Pound) with pants.  Specifically, I paired it with some graphic print skinnies (thrifted via Goodwill) and added some boots (Enzo Angolini “Saylem” via Nordstrom).

I think I rather like the graphic print of the pants with the stylized thunderbird.  But, then again, I’m not feeling well so I can’t be held accountable.

Happy Wednesday, Everyone!

Tulips and Diamonds

The other day on You Look Fab, Angie posited that the popularity of prints and patterns was on the wane and asked if the “pattern party” were over for us.  I said that I thought so, that I was buying fewer prints lately.  But, I realized that I’m just buying fewer clothes in general (an unhappy side effect of my Nosh Opping Expedition) and that I still love prints as much as ever.

What made me come to that realization?  This outfit:

I think that if I were over prints, I’d have just paired a plain black blazer with this tulip print dress (handmade, thrifted via Better Bargains aka The Sticky Thrift Store).  But, instead, I paired my tulips with a vintage, diamond print blazer (Anne Klein via Salvation Army) because, given the option, I’m almost always going to choose to mix prints over pairing a print and a solid.  I did add some solid tights (Spanx via Nordstrom) and booties (Nine West “Darsy) though.  And I added my Eye of Sauron belt (vintage via Goodwill) because, well, what else would one wear with tulips and diamonds?

So, yes, it appears that I am still firmly Team Prints and Patterns.  But, what about you, Reader Friends?  Are you over prints or still on board?  Or, were you never on board?

Happy Tuesday, All!

Oh, yeah, even though today is Tuesday, I wore this yesterday and felt quite visible so I’m linking up to Patti’s Visible Mondayover at Not Dead Yet Style.  Better late than never, right?

Zigzag Goodness

I adore this sweater.  It is full of zigzag goodness:

It is vintage Nan Dorsey and is in amazing condition; one of my better Goodwill finds, for sure.

I wore the sweater with a black turtleneck (Gap), black knit pencil skirt (vintage via Goodwill) and boots (Gap) to pick up the black zigs.  And I added cobalt blue tights (Nordstrom) to pick up the blue zags.

Yep, zigzag goodness.

Happy Thursday, Everyone!

Burgundy & Blue

We’re entering that confusing time of year here in Oregon where it’s really sunny and things are starting to bloom so you think maybe it’s Spring, but then, in the middle of your bike ride it drops 15 degrees and starts hailing.

As you can imagine, that sort of weather can be hard to dress for when you commute by bike.  Therefore, I’m back to my old standby of dresses, cardigans, tights and riding boots:

What can I say?  It dries easily and is warm enough but not so warm that I overheat during the sunny moments.  Also, it’s easy to put on when you're to tired from staying up late reading the Game of Thrones books to think of anything else.

For today’s version, I paired a blue dress (vintage Karin Stevens via Salvation Army) layered under a burgundy and blue cardigan (Gap Outlet).  Today’s tights are burgundy and today’s riding boots are Born Crown (“Sosie” via Nordstrom).  Et voila, simple, effective and quick-drying.

Happy Tuesday, Everyone!

After a one week rush with lots of things to do on my list, finally I managed to update you with brand new post. Many of you asked me about my jewelry collection and how I organized it, so here it is! ;)
Last year I made a new additional closet with my dad, and these drawers were the best thing that I decided to add. As we are not professionals, I gotta admit that it wasn't the easiest thing to do while we were measuring and trying to make them equal by installing them. But it really worth it at the end.
Now, I have place where I can organize every single item which was hard to keep in order before.
Draw for flowers, bracelets, belts or sunglasses, make up or whatever you want, hidden inside of your closet! Am I smart or what? ;)
Do you like it?

p.s. I will give my best to answer to all of your questions today!
p.p.s. the last photo is a little sneak peek into my next outfit post or a proof  how durable my closet is ! ;)
